WHO guidelines offer a thorough review of evidence on hand hygiene in healthcare for healthcare professionals, hospital administrators and health authorities. The guidelines include specific recommendations on how to improve practices and reduce transmission of pathogenic microorganisms to patients and healthcare professionals.6
