Charity

As a leader in the health care sector, Mölnlycke Health Care feels a strong sense of commitment to the medical profession and to patients undergoing treatment. We actively look for productive ways to help improve the lives of patients and to support those who are caring for them. A few examples of these initiatives include:

DEBRA International

Mölnlycke Health Care sponsors DEBRA International, an association representing people living with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). EB is a group of genetic disorders that causes blistering and shearing of the skin from the minimal friction experienced in every day activities.

Nursing associations

On the Wound Care side, we work actively with both EWMA (European Wound Management Association) and its US counterpart SAWC (Symposium of Advanced Wound Care). We also cooperate closely with the AORN and EORNA, organisations for operating room nurses in the US and Europe respectively. In Europe, we sponsor an award for operating room nurses, with the aim of increasing the level of scientific advancement in the perioperative field. We also have close affiliations with national Nursing Associations in Europe.

Operation Smile

Mölnlycke Health Care is a proud sponsor of Operation Smile, a charity that gives children from developing countries the opportunity to undergo surgery for cleft lip and palate correction.

Red Cross

We support the Red Cross organisation.

Clinical research

Mölnlycke Health Care also funds independent clinical research into important issues such as latex allergy, infection prevention and pain.

Training and education

We actively support surgical education and surgeon training, and were one of the first corporate sponsors of the Royal College of Surgeons in the UK. We also support a variety of wound care training initiatives, and courses such as the Basic Surgical Skills training programme that is now used as an international training model.

Medical panels and task forces

Mölnlycke Health Care organises meetings with industry leaders to explore the management of resistant organisms and their impact. These meetings provide a productive forum for senior healthcare industry representatives. We also participate in European standards committees and American Society for testing of materials (ASTM) committees to ensure we have a full understanding of the industry and are consequently better able to serve it.
