"Mölnlycke Health Care is my family and the business in Xinjiang is my child. I could never leave either behind."
Mölnlycke Health Care had been in China for six years, when I joined. I was our first employee in Xinjiang Region. It's a huge place – a sixth of the whole country and over 40 languages, but only 22 million people. With an average of 300km between cities, I often travel more than 5,000km a month.
I've always sought to work for those who respect quality, tradition and others – and that's why I'm proud to work for Mölnlycke Health Care. In my first three years, I was able to increase sales 400% – and help get out products to people who need them.
With the Chinese economy growing so fast, there is a high demand for skills. And, after three years, I got an interesting offer to work for a competitor, in an area where I could develop new skills.
Even after I left, though, I stayed in contact with my colleagues – helping recommend people for interview and advising on clients.
After less than a year, I decided to come back. I realised that, for me, Mölnlycke Health Care is my family and the business in Xinjiang is my child. I could never leave either behind.
Recently I got a letter from a patient who'd had an ulcer on his leg for several years that wouldn't heal. Nothing had worked, which meant he couldn't even bathe properly. And, worse, because he was a swimming coach, he'd not been able to work. He told me that he'd recently gone to a hospital stocking our dressings and, in less than a month, his ulcer had healed and he was able to go back in the pool and begin coaching again.
My personal goal is to pursue perfection, integrity and honesty in all aspects of my life. When I hear stories like that, I realise that Mölnlycke Health Care is the only place for me.
