Inauguration Ceremony of MHC-Xijing Hospital Wound & Scar Therapy and Training Centre in Xian, China

The Burns Department of Xijing Hospital of the Fourth Military Medical University in Xian, Shaanix Province, and Mölnlycke Health Care have collaborated to establish the MHC -Xijing Hospital Wound & Scar Therapy and Training Centre which will serve as the model of its kind in western and north western regions of China.
Mikael Broman from the Swedish Embassy in Beijing, Dr. Jiangzhong Liu, Vice President of Xijing Hospital, and Randy Schwartz, Global Marketing Director, Wound Care, Mölnlycke Health Care, officiated the inauguration ceremony of the Centre on Friday, November 4, 2011.
Xijing Hospital is a 3,500- bed Class 3A general hospital with an annual number of 2 M out-patient and emergency cases, 90,000 in-patient and 40,000 surgery cases. The Burns Department has a comprehensive burns and wound management centre active in clinical, research, and teaching and affiliated with the Fourth Military Medical. Dr. Hu Dai Hai, Chairman and Professor of the Burns Department is a leading authority in Negative Pressure Wound Therapy in Asia and China.
Dr. Roland Frösing, Global Medical Director for the Wound Care Division as well as national key opinion leaders in burn and wound therapy from the Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan as well as those from Singapore, South Korea, and the US also witnessed the event.

Mölnlycke Health Care in China has since 2009 been in close collaboration with the Burns Department of Xijing Hospital in educating and training Chinese surgeons and nurses in wound care and management. The MHC-Xijing Hospital Wound and Scar Therapy and Training Centre is the 6th MHC Wound & Scar Centres in China after the first one with the Peking Union Medical College Hospital, China’s leading teaching hospital, was set up on September 17, 2010.
