A delegation from Mölnlycke Health Care, including our CEO, Pierre Guyot visited the Changhai Hospital Burn Department on the 30th of August.

The delegation was warmly received by the burn department’s Director, Dr. Zhaofan Xia who is also the President-Elect of the China Burn Association.

“We are very pleased to conduct joint clinical research and studies with Mölnlycke Health Care’s medical experts in burn and wound healing in both acute and chronic patients, and develop consensus in burn and wound therapy among Chinese surgeons to serve patients needs” says Dr Xia.

Changhai Hospital was founded in 1949. It is a 2,000-bed teaching hospital equipped with a top modern ICU Burn & Trauma Centre. The Centre treats acute patients suffering with burns caused by industrial accidents as well as patients with domestic burns. It has a track record of over 70% survival rate for third degree burns and serious trauma patients.

“As a research and development based advanced wound technology company, Mölnlycke is also excited to work with the Chinese Burn Association as well as teaching hospitals in the burn and wound segment ” says Pierre Guyot.

The Mölnlycke team in China has established three Best Practice Burn, Wound & Scar Centers over the last 12 months. One Centre at the Peking Union Medical College Hospital, one at the Guangzhou Red Cross Hospital and one at the Xiangya Hospital in Changsha. The team will continue to invest in new Centers and train Chinese clinicians to embrace best clinical practice and advanced wound technologies.
