We are proud to announce the completion of our investment in a new production line at the BARRIER® drape manufacturing facility in Waremme, Belgium, in the heart of Europe. Our goals for BARRIER drapes are to constantly innovate and improve, in order to fulfill an increasing demand from our customers. As a result we upgraded our production facility with an aim to reduce the impact on the environment.
The drapes produced on the new production line might look and feel slightly different but their high quality is the same as before.
The new manufacturing line enables us to further improve production quality and to secure production capacity. This will shorten our supply chain.
The unique, large scale production line also enables us to develop even better and more innovative products in the future.
Good news for the environment
At Mölnlycke Health Care we are committed to reducing our impact on the environment. The new production machinery has been designed in line with our corporate environmental objectives and will significantly lower environmental impact compared to our previous production.
It will deliver:
• 33% less energy consumption
• 35% less CO2 emissions
• Substantially less water consumption*
* We can now eliminate more than 200m3 of waste water for recycling per year. This is the equivalent of an average household’s annual water consumption!
