Mölnlycke Health Care at EWMA 2016: Great outcomes

Booth wall with TV screen, concept images for Mölnlycke's Safetac dressings and the slogan "It's all about the outcome"With an overarching theme of  "It's all about the outcome", Mölnlycke Health Care participated in the 25th annual EWMA (European Wound Management Association) conference from May 11 through 13 in Bremen, Germany.

The Mölnlycke Health Care commitment to improving outcomes and sharing knowledge formed the basis for our contribution to (as a participant and sponsor) this annual event. The theme carried through each component of our participation, from our booth to educational symposia.

Positive outcomes

With just over 6,000 event participants from more than 80 countries, EWMA provided an opportunity for the entire wound care community to consider and share knowledge on themes that are of importance to everyone: using scientific, clinical and health economic evidence together to help forge better treatment and achieve better patient outcomes.

The event allowed us to bring our "It's all about the outcome" theme to life in our activities and booth.

On-site: Products, evidence, knowledge and sharing in action

Irina Yablonovskaia and Susanna Falkbring from Mölnlycke Health Care demonstrating the dressing Mepilex XT to a customerAt the Mölnlycke Health Care booth, we focused primarily on sharing the products Mepilex XT® and Exufiber® as well as evidence in the pressure ulcer prevention (PUP) area. Our booth also featured a lab where we demonstrated Mepilex® Border as one key to helping prevent pressure ulcers.

We also sponsored an activity where event attendees could walk one kilometre on a treadmill, for which we donated EUR 5 per kilometre to the DEBRA organization (external link, opens in a new window). This year, participants helped to generate EUR 655.

Jacqui Fletcher presenting at symposiumWe also hosted two informative, well-attended symposia, Evidence-based pressure ulcer preventive strategy: It's all about the outcome, and Price or outcome: How should we be measured?, and several hands-on, product-oriented workshops.

Building better outcomes for the future

We will publish information about EWMA 2017 when available. We look forward to seeing you there.
