The new BARRIER® Hybrid Cardiovascular drape is specially designed to fit the needs in the Hybrid O.R. It is an all-in-one solution that allows for only one person to drape and saves time compared to techniques that rely on multiple drapes.
The Hybrid O.R. and table add extra demands on the design of the surgical drape to ensure that the full functionality of the table is not compromised. The operation put special demands on the drape since incisions into the patient are necessary both through the chest as well as through the groins. Access to sternum is needed in case of an emergency. Therefore the preparation time prior to a Hybrid operation can take a lot of time and involve patch-working many drapes and sheets together.
The main features are:
- Extra large 4.5m long and 2.4m wide drape to fully cover larger operating tables
- Incise films positioned for both minimal invasive and open surgery as well as femoral percutaneous access
- Reinforcement area along the full length of the patient for absorption and extra strength
- Clear plastic film sides, allowing a sterile approach to the control panels and visual control of the C-arm
- Side pouches to facilitate holding of tubing, instruments and liquids.

- Minimal invasive Aortic Valve Replacement
- Mitral Valve Repair
- Mitral Valve Replacement
- Electrophysiologic mapping and radiofrequency ablation, to manage
cardiac dysrhythmia
- Pacemaker repair or implantation
