Breathable transparent self-adhesive film dressing
Mepore Film is a transparent self-adhesive film dressing ideal as secondary fixation dressing and as primary dressing for a wide range of clean wounds. Mepore Film's application system is designed for ease-of-use.
Mepore Film provides a flexible, transparent covering to protect the wound, whilst conforming to surface irregularities and body contours. The film provides a barrier to fluid strike-through and viral and bacterial contamination.
Mepore Film maintains a moist environment in the wound. Due to its high vapour permeability, Mepore Film allows excess moisture to pass away from the wound and surrounding skin.
Over 30 years of being there for you
Since 1979, more than 1.5 billion original Mepore dressings have been used. Perhaps because Mepore was the first self-adhesive dressing of it's kind1. Perhaps because it's been improved and developed and is now the dressing of choice for millions of health care professionals worldwide. Mostly, we think, for one simple unsurprising reason: dependable performance. Shift in and shift out. Since day one.

How to use
Mepore® Film
Transparent, breathable, adhesive coated polyurethane film
Product description
Mepore Film is a flexible, transparent, breathable film dressing made of polyurethane, coated with a polyacrylic adhesive. The dressing is supported with a transparent sheet paper frame to ease the application.
Mode of action
Mepore Film provides a flexible, transparent covering to protect the wound whilst conforming to surface irregularities and body contours.
Mepore Film maintains a moist environment yet due to its vapour permeability allows excess moisture pass away from the wound and surrounding skin.
Mepore Film provides a barrier to fluid strike-through and bacterial contamination.
Intended use
Mepore Film is intended for a wide range of wounds in the granulation phase such as superficial burns, IV sites, abrasions, lacerations, donor sites, superficial pressure ulcers, closed surgical wounds and may help to prevent skin breakdown. Mepore Film can be used as a conformable fixation device or as a secondary dressing to cover dressings such as hydrogels, alginates and foam dressings.
Precautions
Mepore Film should not be applied on patients who are sensitive to acrylic adhesive.
Mepore Film should not be used directly on full thickness wounds involving muscle, tendon or bone or on third degree burns.
Method of use
Application:
1. Clean the application area. Dry the healthy surrounding skin.
2.Chose the correct dressing size to allow a margin which adheres to dry healthy skin around the wound or catheter site. The dressing may be cut and can be overlapped.
3. For size 10x25 cm (4x10 inches) and 15x20 cm (6x8 inches) only: Remove center cut-out and discard.
4. Remove the protection paper (printed Mepore) to expose the adhesive.
5. Apply Mepore Film and remove the paper frame.
6. Remove the two white paper side tabs.
Dressing change and removal
1. The dressing may be left in place for several days depending on the wound/skin condition, or as indicated by good clinical practice.
2. Lift a corner of the dressing and gently pull the film along the skin (in the direction of hair growth).
Sterility is guaranteed unless the inner package is damaged or opened prior to use. Do not resterilise.
