Neurosurgeon Yasser Abdalla on latex allergy and non-latex solutions

By: Mölnlycke Health Care, November 14 2014Posted in: Staff & patient safety

Dr Yasser Abdalla is the Head of Neurosurgery at Norwest Hospital in Germany. He has been a neurosurgeon since 1992 and started out using powdered surgical gloves, which he believes caused his latex allergy. “The intervals for tolerating the gloves got shorter and shorter until I could wear them for only five minutes,” he says. “I was then diagnosed with a latex allergy.” He has since then discovered and come to love latex-free gloves.
