Scars

A scar is a formation of collagen. Scars form and are a natural part of the wound-healing process.

If there is an overexpression of collagen in scarring it will develop into a keloid or a hypotrophic scar and can become a cosmetic problem.

Wounds that heal by secondary healing tend to scar worse than wounds closed by primary healing.
