Topical Oxygen Therapy

Oxygen is an important requirement for wound healing. In a chronic, non-healing wound, the wound bed is persistently hypoxic, therefore supplying additional oxygen may help promote healing. When Granulox is sprayed on a wound, highly purified haemoglobin is released, which binds with oxygen that diffuses through the wound exudate. The haemoglobin supplies the base of the wound topically with oxygen. The oxygen supply to the base of the wound supports wound healing and patient outcomes.
