Hibi® Universal Bathing System a complete solution for patient bathing

Our solution helps provide the wash-lather-rinse component recommended by the CDC for the removal of spores4. This process distinguishes itself from standard bath wipes by rinsing away harmful bacteria that can spread rapidly through different units within a facility.

Additionally, traditional CHG wipes require a warming period in dedicated warmers and must be thrown away if not used within 72 hours, leading to costly waste. HUBS features dry, disposable washcloths paired with our gentle but powerful 4% CHG skin cleanser, HibiClens®, providing a simple bathing process where you only have to open the package and add warm water—enough to saturate the cloth and proceed with bathing your patient.’

Why HUBS?

  • Effective skin cleansing is crucial in preventing healthcare–aquired infections (HAIs) and promoting positive outcomes. Hibi® Universal Bathing System when combined with Hibiclens® antiseptic skin cleanser, provides a powerful solution for removing and killing bacteria from the skin1 with a proven 4% Chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) solution. Daily bed bathing with HUBS offers the opportunity to evaluate skin integrity, stimulate circulation, and promote range of motion, improving the patient’s self-image and comfort. 2,3.

    1. Promotes Standardization

    2. Supports Infection Prevention

    3. Ease of Use

    4. Durable and Gentle on Skin

    1. Promotes Standarization
Hibi® Universal Bathing System reduces the need for linens and bath wipes, eliminating reusable basins.

    2. Supports Infection Prevention
Our solution helps reduce the risk of cross-contamination associated with reusable or disposable basins.

Bed bathing traditionally requires reusable basins that have been shown to harbor harmful microorganisms that can affect vulnerable patients in the hospital7. Or disposable basins that weaken with the addition of water and create excess waste. With HUBS, the packaging is the basin, removing complications and streamlining the process.

    3. Ease of Use
Practical solution that does not require warming machines or special storage. Simply add warm water and use the appropriate soap according to facility protocol.

Our washcloths are idwal for use with a 4% CHG skin cleansing solution like HibiClens®.

    4. Durable and Gentle on skin
Our dry washcloths are a gentle on skin alternative to CHG wipes, providing patients with a real bed bath feeling without leaving a sticky residue on their skin due to product build up overtime. Offering them comfort, satisfaction and lower risk for irritation.

Frequently Asked Questions about Hibi® Universal Bathing System

  • The Hibi® Universal Bathing System (HUBS) provides dry, disposable washcloths for patient bathing, designed to offer the benefits of a water-based bath while maintaining optimal infection prevention practices.

  • Peel back the label, add 16-20 ounces of warm water, reclose and massage the pack, proceed with bathing using a skin cleansing solution like HibiClens®, rinse the patient, and place used cloths back into the pack for disposal.

  • Our system reduces the need for linens and standard CHG wipes, eliminates reusable and disposable basins, helps prevent cross-contamination, and provides practical solution that doesn’t require the use of warmers or special storage.

  • No, Hibi® Universal Bathing System does not contain soap or chlorhexidine gluconate also known as CHG, like other CHG wipes solutions in the market. Our dry cloths allows for facilities to standardize their infection prevention practices while offering their patients a water-based bath experience when using any soap or a 4% chlorhexidine gluconate skin cleanser like HibiClens®.

  • Yes, our dry cloths can be used with any soap and works well with 4% CHG antiseptic skin cleansing solutions like HibiClens® as part of infection prevention protocols for patient bathing.

Comprehensive protocols that include patient bathing with HibiClens® + HUBS have been shown to reduce healthcare-aquired infections – HAIs, central line – associated bloodstream infections – CLABSIs, and catheter-associated urinary tract infections CAUTIS. 5,6

  • Our solution is designed to benefit patients mentally and physically from a bed bath 2. It provides an efficient alternative to basins and linens, offering greater control of the bathing process. Each Hibi® Universal Bathing System single-use waterproof pack includes 10 or 5 disposable cloths, which can be used in various ratios for bathing and rinsing.

These ratios could vary depending on the patient and the bathing protocols followed in every facility. When properly used, one package could be enough for one patient.

  • It is great that you are seeing the benefits of CHG bathing. We have seen with other facilities that they are reducing CLABSIs, MRSA, etc., but have also still struggled with Clostridioides difficile. With the CHG “wipe”, you are only moving the spores around on the skin and are not physically removing them with water. Hibiclens® brings us back to the basics with a soap and CHG all in one product. This will achieve the benefits of CHG protection and allow you to reduce Clostridioides difficile rates by rinsing with water.6,7,8,9
