”Pressure injury prevention isn’t about one big act – it’s about the hundreds of small, quiet decisions we make every shift.”

Rosemary Hill Canadian panel member

Who is Rosemary Hill?

Rosemary Hill has worked as a nurse for more than 40 years. Today, she specialises in wound, ostomy and continence care and works full time at a busy community hospital in Canada. Over the last decade, she has also taught nurses in different countries about wound and ostomy care.

Rosemary’s work brings her into contact with patients and families every day, helping them manage life-changing conditions while restoring dignity, independence and quality of life. She has always been drawn to supporting people as they adapt to major life changes and was fascinated by wound healing and the positive impact that timely interventions and the right support can have on patient outcomes.

For Rosemary, being part of The Silent Hero Awards is an opportunity to shine a light on the work that is often unnoticed but critically important. She hopes the award will encourage knowledge sharing, inspire new approaches to pressure injury prevention and celebrate the everyday actions that make a lasting difference to patients’ lives.
