First factory in China reaches key milestone and strengthens Mölnlycke’s global manufacturing network
Mölnlycke has completed construction of its first manufacturing facility in China, marking a major milestone in the company's growth journey and strengthening its ability to serve one of the world's largest and fastest growing healthcare markets.
Located in Changshu, the new site will manufacture wound care products for the Chinese market, supporting faster response times and greater supply chain resilience. It reflects Mölnlycke's ambition to manufacture products closer to where they are sold, while drawing on the same quality standards, operational excellence and expertise that connects its global operations network.
"The completion of the factory reflects years of planning, collaboration and dedication from teams across Mölnlycke. We are now preparing for the next phase as we work towards commercial production," says Antti Wiksten, General Manager of the Changshu factory, "This is a significant milestone for Mölnlycke and an important step in our long-term commitment to China.”
The new facility joins Mölnlycke’s global manufacturing network, which spans 16 sites in 11 countries across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas. More than a collection of individual factories, this network of sites operates as one connected system, with shared processes, expertise and standards that enable Mölnlycke to meet growing demand, scale capabilities efficiently and respond with greater agility to changing customer and market needs.
A global Mölnlycke operations standard provides the backbone for this network, helping to ensure that all sites operate with the same expectations for quality, compliance, safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement, while still allowing local teams to adapt to local regulations, customer needs and market conditions.
