Mepitel

Mepitel® is a soft silicone wound contact layer designed for the management of wounds that have moderate to high amounts of wound fluid, including skin tears, skin abrasions, sutured wounds, partial-thickness burns, partial- and full-thickness grafts, diabetic foot ulcers, and leg ulcers. Mepitel should be applied directly to the wound with a secondary absorbent dressing then applied on top which should be secured with a tubular bandage, such as Tubifast® or equivalent. When used in conjunction with a secondary absorbent dressing, such as Mesorb®, Mepitel can be used as a protective layer on wounds with none to low amounts of fluid, for example blisters, fragile skin and exposed fragile tissues.
