With HOCl, more isn't always better.

Higher concentrations of HOCl preserve the solution4 but can raise the risk of cytotoxicity, working against the very cells that drive repair.Granudacyn solves that tradeoff.

The science behind balanced wound cleansing.

  • For wound cleansing, the question isn't just whether a solution works, but whether it works without compromising the cells that drive healing. A recent in vitro study measured the cytotoxic and proliferative effects of six wound cleansing solutions on Normal Human Dermal Fibroblasts (NHDF) and Normal Human Epidermal Keratinocytes (NHEK), the cells your patients need most.6

  • Cell Viability

    Cell viability

Lower-concentration HOCl solutions demonstrated superior cell viability; higher concentrations reduced viability by up to 60%.6

  • Cell Proliferation

    Cell proliferation

Higher-concentration solutions suppressed proliferation by as much as 70%; lower concentrations preserved proliferative capacity.6

  • Conclusions

    Conclusions

Solutions with lower HOCl concentrations show improved biocompatibility with human skin cells, and can mitigate wound healing disruption.6
