Mepilex Border is een zelfklevend, absorberend verband dat kan worden gebruikt als onderdeel van een profylactische behandeling om decubitus te voorkomen en het risico op maceratie tot een minimum te beperken. Voor wondbehandeling handhaaft het een vochtige wondomgeving. De waterdichte buitenlaag beschermt tegen vuil en bacteriën. Het verband heeft een Safetac®-wondcontactlaag die een unieke adhesietechnologie vormt. Het minimaliseert pijn voor patiënten en trauma aan wonden en huid bij het verwijderen van het verband. Mepilex Border bestaat uit: • een wondcontactlaag bestaande uit een zachte silicone kleeflaag (Safetac) en een filmdrager • een flexibel absorberend kussen in drie lagen: een schuimlaag, een nonwoven verspreidingslaag en een laag met superabsorberende vezels. • een buitenlaag die ademend, maar waterdicht is en een barrière vormt tegen externe besmettingen Samenstelling van het verbandmateriaal: Silicone, polyurethaan, polyacrylaat, katoen, viscose, polyester en polyolefine.
