Who is Anne Marie?
Ann Marie Nie lives in Ohio with her husband and is surrounded by a big family with children and grandchildren. Being the middle child of 10 sisters and brothers, Ann Marie had to learn to stand up for herself early in life, something that has served her well in her career. To her, family is the ultimate joy. She has been a nurse for 33 years and chose her profession to try to make a difference in the lives of children and their families.
Ann Maries work has two important components: To care and assist the patients at her hospital and to create research that can be translatable to other hospitals to assist patients and families.
She hopes that the Silent Hero Awards will contribute to improving wound care and that those who receive the Silent Hero Awards will understand the honor and strive for excellence in their practice.
