Commitments and recognitions

To meet stakeholder expectations, mitigate risks, and ensure long-term success amidst a changing business landscape, Mölnlycke seeks out independent assessments to measure its approach to responsible and sustainable business practices. We believe that collaboration is the most effective way to achieve results at scale.

Mölnlycke fully supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) developed by United Nations, as they provide a clear compass for sustainable business growth and development and are in line with our own agenda of creating shared value. We continue to develop business opportunities in alignment with the SDGs and focus on the goals below, where we think we can have the biggest impact:

We are a UN Global Compact participant

We are a participant in UN Global Compact and support its Ten Principles in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-corruption.

SBTi commitment

In December 2022 we joined the network of companies taking action on climate change by committing to set both near-term emission reduction targets, as well as Net Zero targets, in line with the criteria and recommendations set by the Science Based Targets initiative. Our near-term targets have been validated. This is a major milestone in our journey to Net Zero by 2050 at the latest.

Awards, disclosures and ratings

The world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings - EcoVadis, has awarded Mölnlycke a gold medal for our focus on sustainability. In 2023 they ranked us in the top 3% of companies worldwide.

Mölnlycke has been honoured with the Enlightened Growth Leadership Award by the Frost & Sullivan Institute in recognition of Mölnlycke’s steadfast dedication and leadership in fostering a positive impact on society while actively pursuing a sustainable future.

Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) aims to make environmental reporting and risk management a business norm, driving disclosure, insight, and benchmarking. We report climate risks and low carbon opportunities through the CDP climate questionnaire for the benefit of all our stakeholders. In 2023 CDP awarded Mölnlycke a B rating, higher than average for a medical supply company.

The Task force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) provides information to investors on companies’ governance and actions to mitigate the risks of climate change. We support the recommendations from Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and include those disclosures in our external sustainability reporting.
