Mijin Kim has dedicated over twenty years to advancing pressure injury prevention and wound care as a Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse. She began her career in a surgical ward, where she was introduced to wound care. Her journey deepened after receiving ostomy and wound training at Seoul National University Hospital, and in 2003 she started her professional path as a WOCN at Inha University Hospital.

Today her daily work involves carefully assessing wounds, applying preventive dressings, and educating patients. She also prepares lectures and training sessions for nurses, balancing clinical practice, teaching, and research.

She looks forward to the panel assignment and the opportunity to exchange best practices with global experts. The assignment will also allow her to share experiences internationally and bring back valuable insights to Korea. She hopes that The Silent Hero Awards will shine a light on unsung heroes, and inspire healthcare professionals worldwide.
