Who is Yongeun Hong?
Yongeun Hong majored in German Language and Literature before deciding to pursue a career in nursing. She completed the international WOCN program at the National Cancer Center and later specialized in wound, ostomy, and pressure injury care. Today, she has more than fifteen years of experience in acute bedside care, ostomy management, and patient education for cancer patients.
Yongeun Hong says that wound care and prevention are not routine tasks, but life-changing efforts for patients. She is passionate about building pathways for nurses who are dedicated to wound care helping them grow into recognized experts. She also aims to inspire and support those who are eager to study and grow, ensuring that more nurses become leaders in this essential field.
Yongeun Hong hopes that the Silent Hero Awards will help recognize the hidden heroes in wound care, and encourage both present and future professionals to continue their commitment.
