The Head of the Wound Care Team at Catholic Kwandong University International St. Mary’s Hospital is incredibly honoured by receiving this recognition, but she wants to dedicate the Award to her team members who trusted and worked alongside her.

As a WOCN (Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse) she develops and manage hospital-wide wound and pressure injury prevention systems, coordinate appropriate interventions for high-risk patients, and lead nursing education and clinical practice improvement initiatives.

She points out that prevention begins with daily observation, attention, and timely action. And hopes that people remember that small, consistent efforts make a tremendous difference for patients:

“In Korea, awareness of pressure injury prevention is still developing. Many healthcare institutions remain treatment-oriented, and it will take time for the value of prevention to become a genuine priority. I will continue to devote myself to fostering a prevention-focused culture in clinical settings.”
